Finally, after heaven knows how long, do we FINALLY have ramps in our school! (: I think we all owe a big thanks to the committee, especially Joseph and Nizam who have done an extremely astounding job by liaising with the Sports Council and Kingsley from Rollersports to bring our ramps in!

WEEK 4 UPDATE: [IMPORTANT!]

Hi Everyone!!

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS to all those who took part in the Inter-tertiary competition on the 15th of May (Saturday) !! Your fellow skaters took part and brought glory to our club by coming in 3rd overall. Our club narrowly lost to SMU and SP, but don't worry, we'll be back next year with a vengeance!

Nevertheless, THREE thumbs up for them! Hip-hip! The names of those who took part will be updated here over the next couple of days. The team, definitely deserves a mention. Good job everyone!!! (:

On a more serious note, please take note of the following as it is very important with regards to this week's training session:

SKATE RENTALS

1. Skate rentals are still ongoing. Last day of rentals will be the 4th session (27th May)

2. Skate rentals have been increased to $5.00. This is in attempt to persuade skaters to purchase their very own pair of skates as it will be a better investment and allow each skater to quickly accustom (season) themselves to their skates before training starts proper next month.

(The additional $2.00 up from $3.00 will go into our club fund for future events & equipment purchases)

3. Skate rentals will now require a deposit of identification cards (eg. IC/EZ-Link Card) along with rental fee. This is due to 4 pairs of skates going missing last week

SKATE PURCHASES/ORDERS

**NOTE: Please be warned that there are illicit dealers around with regards to freestyle skates. The company we are purchasing our skates from, Micro Sports Singapore is the MAIN and ONLY distributor (not retailer) in the whole of Asia-Pacific and Singapore in terms of SEBA skates. Some members who decided not to buy through our school have been sold fake skates or defected ones at prices slashed below what Micro Sports offers, if you find such, please report them back to the club and we will take appropriate action.

1. For skaters who ordered freestyle/recreational skates last week, your skates will be in this week during our training session (20th May)

(If it rains and training is cancelled, you will be able to get your orders @ Ngee Ann Poly Canteen 2 at 6.00pm on the same day)

2. Orders can still be made this week. Hurry and place your orders this week as we are stopping orders soon!

3. For aggressive skates, order taking will end on 27th may. Website to view skate catalog is www.aggressivemall.com.

4. For hockey skates, order taking will end on 27th may. Website to view skate catalog is www.inlinewarehouse.com AND www.hockeymonkey.com

[REGARDING MISSING SKATES]
After session last week, 4 pairs of rentals were not returned. Please kindly return them during the next training session. We will not impose any charge/fine or form of reprimand. We just need to return them to the rental company or the club will have to fork out the $$ to pay for them. If you have any information regarding them as well, please let anyone in the committee know or drop us an e-mail. Thanks guys! (:

OTHERS

NP's TV Crew may be coming down this week to film some of the seniors while skating (& maybe some of you new skaters!). Please don't be alarmed if you see people running around with cameras/microphones & stuff (:

I'll update again if there are changes. That's all folks!

Change In Skate Prices

Hi Skaters,

My apologies, the prices were uploaded wrongly. They are subject to change and I've made the changes accordingly. There is a high possibility the retail prices will receive a discount, so cross your fingers and ask the dealer on the day of your purchase! (Which is tomorrow, and the week after:) Please refer to the old post where I've made the appropriate changes.

Sorry once again!

Aggro Ramps/Rails Are Coming In!!!

Hey Skaters,

Great news! I just got word from our advisor that our ramps/rails/boxes are all approved and they will be making a shack on Kismis field for us to store them. For the time being, we'll be shifting the ramps onto the court first.

Question, does anyone know of any company/service that might engage in shifting of large objects as such? If you do, please let me know asap! The faster we get our transport, the faster we can get our stuff! (They are currently housed at Jurong Stadium, so we'll be needing to transport them over. Please leave suggestions or opinions and support your Aggressive Skating Manager, Nizam, in this! Thanks)

Awesomeness 101 !!! =D

Cheers,

Bryan James,

PS: recreational skates price list coming up. however, it is encouraged for u guys to actually get a seba instead, as they are more suitable if u intend to specialize in sliding/slaloming. invest in a good pair of skates, rather than buying cheapos, and having to upgrade when u specialize... remember, u pay peanuts u get monkeys!

13th May, 2nd Session Update [LATEST]

Hi Skaters!

The status update of this week's training will be updated on Thursday itself as we have to see the weather on the day itself. For now, I'll address some burning questions many new skaters have!

Skate rentals, how long will they be here?

For a minimum of 3 more sessions. Depending on the demand, we may decide to extend it.

Catalog of skates on sale, with information on retail prices and discounted prices.

The catalog will be available during training over the next 3 session when the rentals are still here. We are hoping to upload it to our blog in our next post. (Hopefully tonight, 10th May, 11pm)

When will we get our skate after purchasing/ordering?
Depending on the arrangement with the distributor, usually it will be the following week during training, unless they bring down stock on that very day of your ordering.

If I missed the first session? How?!
Year 1's need not worry about attendance as of now. Currently we're granting you guys a grace period of about 2-3 weeks. The first official training for YEAR 1's will begin close to the end of May -- we will update you about it. (*NOTE: Year 2's and 3's, your attendance is taken into consideration starting from 13th of May)

My friend didn't come for the first session, can he/she still come?
Of course! Just let your group leader know and he/she will add your friend to the group. Please inform the GL, or your friend may not get his/her attendance taken down.

Then again...
If you have further questions, please post them on our tagboard and we will try to address them asap. Once again, I apologise for being unable to be there in person as I'm having my internship. Nevertheless, you can always contact me via this blog if you have any queries!
